Practical interventions in environmental restoration, responsible resource use and community-led change.
A focused pond rejuvenation initiative—from drainage, dewatering and cleaning to structural improvement, traditional filtration and long-term stewardship.
The initiative transformed an unorganised, water-stressed pond through systematic drainage, drying, cleaning, levelling, inlet and side-wall construction, filtration and water restocking—creating better water quality, improved capacity and a renewed community space.
At Jindal SAW’s Kosi Kalan township, a detailed waste audit became the starting point for a rapid transition from mixed collection, dumping and burning to an integrated zero-waste system. Within months, leadership commitment enabled a dedicated 2,630 sq ft facility, source segregation, aerobic composting, horticultural-waste mulching, multi-category dry-waste sorting and traceable downstream recovery. Community engagement—from door-to-door awareness to employee, resident and school programmes—helped achieve 95% effective segregation, while the former dumpsite was reclaimed as an open ground.
